Bank of Canada Note Liabilities

Have you ever wondered how much CASH is in circulation in Canada? Look no further! The Bank of Canada publishes annual data of how many banknotes are outstanding. These charts show the main five denominations, but the data also includes the five denominations that have been withdrawn, plus notes from the provinces, the Dominion of Canada, chartered banks and defunct banks. Cash is king and the amount of it in circulation has been growing steadily for the last 40+ years!
